2xHD Mastering teams up with Jazzology Records and the GHB Jazz Foundation to present a newly remastered edition of Brian Torff’s Manhattan Hoedown to NativeDSD. This is a Live to Analog Tape Recording with an Audience made at the Union Church in Hinsdale, Illinois on January 30, 1983.
Manhattan Hoedown features bassist and composer Brian Torff joining forces with New York pianist, composer, and arranger Jim Roberts to present a fun and lively performance of a diverse and engaging program of originals and standards. With this album, Torff brings the Bass into an enjoyable and contemporary set of performances with universal appeal.
Selections on the album include Big Noise from Winnetka by Bob Haggart, Pachelbel Cannon, Love Is Here To Stay by George and Ira Gershwin, It Never Entered My Mind by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart and Birdland by Joe Zawinul of Weather Report.
This landmark recording has been transferred and remastered from the Original Analog Master Tape to Stereo DSD and DXD by Rene Laflamme at 2xHD for the enjoyment of our NativeDSD listeners.
