Gandhaya Quartet (formerly known as the Magma Quartet) was founded in 2017 and consists of 4 students from the Codarts conservatory in Rotterdam. The musicians come from Spain, Brazil and India and are:
Juliano Abramovay (Oud and Guitar), Angelo Ursini (Flute), Tarang Poddar (Tabla) and Jose Manuel Vilega (Percussion).
Gandhaya Quartet is looking for new combinations, formulas, musical colors and flavors. With a combination of instruments such as the Oud, Guitar (with 7 strings), the Bansuri (from India), Tablas and Congas (percussion instruments), the ensemble brings both fresh arrangements and original compositions with unprecedented possibilities in rhythms, harmonies and melodies. In the music you can find elements of music from India, Turkey and Brazil.
