Guitarist Leonardo Gallucci was born in Rome in 1964. He is a guitarist and guitar teacher with a long history of musical studies. He started at an early age with Maestro Luigi Gallucci, then attended the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome, with Maestro Carlo Carfagna where he received a first-class diploma with honors.
Over the years, he specialized abroad attending courses with world-famous guitarists including Eliot Fisk, Walter Abt, Manuel Guitierrez, Alvaro Pierri, Roland Dyens, Sharon Isbin. This led to a host of awards including the 6th International Guitar Contest in 1990.
He has extensive experience as a concert performer – both as a soloist and performing with a chamber orchestra. Particularly remarkable is his performances with Quartetto Chitarristico Romano (Roman Guitarist Quartet) and their performance of the first concert of Giuliani for guitar and orchestra and a duo with Maestro Carlo Carfagna. His arrangements of film music for four guitars for the International Guitar Festival in Belgrade garnered the praise of Maestro Ennio Morricone.
His teaching experience includes serving as a classical guitar teacher in junior secondary schools since 1988. Leonardo is currently teaching at “IC Ilaria Alpi” in Ladispoli, conducting and arranging pieces for guitar orchestra.
Leonardo’s interests include progressive rock with experience as a bass guitarist and guitarist with the progressive rock band “Metamorfosi”. Since 2008 he has also focused on playing the 10 string guitar and composing original pieces of music.
