Ditta Rohmann

As a ten-year-old, Ditta Rohmann studied for a year with Suren Bagratun at the Boston New England Conservatory.

From 1995 to 2005, she continued her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music under Ottó Kertész and then Miklós Perényi. She received a first-class degree from the Academy in Budapest in 2007, as well as gaining further qualifications in 2007 and 2008 at the City of Basle Music Academy, where she was a student of Ivan Monighetti. In September 2009, she began working as a teaching assistant at the University of Debrecen.

Since her teenage years, Rohmann has regularly performed across Europe as a chamber musician and soloist. She regularly plays in a duo with Emese Mali, with whom she won the Special Prize at the Il Premio Trio di Trieste chamber music competition in 2003.

She has given countless concert performances both in Hungary and abroad. In 2008, she also won an award at the 2008 Orpheus Festival in Zurich alongside the Finnish pianist Anna Kuvaja.

Ditta performs with both chamber and symphony orchestras and has also featured on countless albums and radio recordings. Her repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to contemporary music. Rohmann has also received an Artisjus Award as a recognition for services to contemporary classical music.  

The versatile, internationally acclaimed and multi-award winner cellist, Ditta Rohmann, is an authentic and passionate interpreter of J.S. Bach’s music just as well works written by twentieth century and contemporary composers. She also often ventures into territories of other musical styles like Jazz, or World Music.
