Driven by the question of how the songs would sound with a jazz instrumentation, pianist Ulf Kleinert was commissioned with the new arrangements. He turned out to be a true master of reduction, who knows how to lay bare the soul of the songs. The intimate atmosphere of the club, which can only hold just under a hundred visitors, contributes the rest to the feeling of experiencing DePhazz in its purest form – a meeting of sound engineers and groove craftsmen.

Birgit Hammer-Sommer and husband Dirk Sommer recorded this album Live to Analog Tape in 2014. Eight years after producing and recording the album – and after eight years of it only being available on Vinyl LP the duo that are the label Sommelier du Son have transferred it to Stereo DSD 256 using the Mytek Digital Brooklyn Analog to Digital Converter.

Garage Pompeuse: The Berlin Session is exclusively available in Stereo DSD 256 as well as Stereo DSD 128 and DSD 64 at NativeDSD.  The additional DSD editions of the album were created in the DSD Domain by Tom Caulfield at NativeDSD Mastering Labs using the Signalyst HQ Player 4 Pro mastering software.  It is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD release.
