This is the first live album by duo Musica NudaPetra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti recorded during the “Musica delle Tradizioni Festival” — September 2016 in Vicenza.

Thanks to the presence of the public of the Teatro Comunale di Vicenza, Petra Magoni’s voice and Ferruccio Spinetti’s double bass gave life to an even more exciting and extraordinary interpretation. Verso Sud is a musical journey in Southern Italy and in the world in pure Musica Nuda style, that is “instinct and freedom” both in the choice of the repertoire and in the way
of interpreting it, lightly but never without respect.

The Master has been implemented by transferring the Analog Master realized with the Ampex ATR 102, 2 tracks, 1/2 inch, 30ips, into the dCS A/D Converter DSD.

Four Stories featuring the Roberto Gatto Quartet was recorded at one of the concerts at the 2022 Fonè Music Festival. The location was the Piaggio Auditorium located inside the famous Pontedera Museum, the place where Piaggio was born and where it still continues to produce today.

The members of the Jazz Quartet are four great Jazz Musicians with an extraordinary leader, Roberto Gatto, the greatest Italian jazz drummer.  Along with Alessandro Presti (trumpet), Matteo Bortone (double bass) and Alessandro Lanzoni (piano).

Among the songs played, many are those composed by the artists themselves: “The Music Next Door” by R. Gatto, “Il valzer della fonderia” by A. Presti, “Waver” by A. Lanzoni and “Victoria Regia” by M. Bortone. The album is completed by two very special songs by Mary Lou Williams and Gary Peacock.

Roberto Gatto has played throughout Europe and the rest of the world with his groups and with international artists. The groups with his name are characterized, in addition to an interesting timbre research, and an impeccable performance technique, by a great warmth typical of Mediterranean culture.

We Concentrate On You: The Music of Cole Porter features four extraordinary Jazz Musicians: Gabriele Mirabassi (clarinet), Fulvio Sigurtà (trumpet), Enzo Pietropaoli (double bass) and Marcello Di Leonardo (drums).

The album has 10 tracks: Tracks 1 to 8 are by composer Cole Porter, Track 9 “Line for Lyons” is by Gerry Mulligan and Track 10 is a very original interpretation of the Italian National Anthem “Inno d’Italia.”

The instruments interact on an equal level, without hierarchy—hence the name Leaderless Quartet. A “quartet without piano,” where each instrument is an autonomous, monophonic voice, building harmony in a less conventional and more improvisational way.

For this recording, a “field-effect” technique was used, ensuring a natural sound without equalizers, sound expansion, or compression systems. The goal? To transport the listener back to their home Hi-Fi system with a true live effect—as if they were at the concert. No edits. Every track on this album is presented exactly as it was played.

Conceived, recorded and produced by Giulio Cesare Ricci
Recorded at Auditorium Museo Piaggio, Pontedera on September 17th, 2022
Valve microphones: Neumann U47, U48, M49
Mike pre-amplifiers, cables (line, digital, microphone, supply): Signoricci
Recorded in Stereo DSD 64 on the Pyramix Recorder using dCS A/D and D/A Converters
The Mastering was made by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the Signoricci’s analog and tube system.

Cinerama: Music From The Movies is the 9th album at NativeDSD that features Jazz Sax player Scott Hamilton. The album contains nine tracks taken from famous films, including Three Coins In The Fountain, On Green Dolphin Street and Close Enough For Love. Composed by Film Music legends including Burt Bacharach, Sammy Cahn, Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandel, Cole Porter and Jule Styne.

Cinerama continues the extraordinary series of Jazz albums that Scott Hamilton began with Giulio Cesare Ricci at Fonè Jazz in 2012. It features four extraordinary musicians: Scott Hamilton, Paolo Birro, Aldo Zunino and Alfred Kramer.

The album was recorded at Stereo DSD 64 using the Pyramix DSD Workstation software from Merging Technologies with Analog to Digital Converters from dCS. It is part of the recordings that Giulio Cesare Ricci made on the occasion of the concerts of the 2022 Fonè Music Festival Piaggio. The location of the recording is the Piaggio Auditorium located inside the famous Pontedera Museum, the place where Piaggio was born and where it still continues to produce today.

Scott Hamilton, who for many years has been performing on the best stages around the world as the leader of his quartet or alongside other sacred monsters of jazz, is an interpreter of extraordinarily elegant music, based on impeccable phrasing and a fascinating sound, which already in the seventies, when the widespread trend was to explore particularly aggressive sound alternatives, imposed him for the sweetness of his saxophone and creative imagination.
