Ramée

The Ramée label was founded in 2004 by the musician and audio engineer Rainer Arndt and established itself as a highly regarded label for early music within a very short period of time.

Many releases from its catalogue have not only been enthusiastically acclaimed by public and press alike but have also won prestigious awards. Ramée presents eight to ten carefully chosen productions per year, concentrating on rarely or as yet unrecorded early music repertoire in its White Series, and on better known works in new or unusual interpretations in its Black Series.

Given this new age of streaming, Ramée has decided to go with the spirit of the times: it will make full use of the possibilities offered by the digitalisation of music on the one hand, and will celebrate every aspect of the CD’s presentation on the other; the latter policy has been the philosophical basis for the label from its inception. The sound recordings themselves, the graphic qualities of the cover, and the quality of the liner notes are essential aspects that are all highly important to us: Ramée CDs are works of art in every respect, as what is a joy to the ear is intimately tied to the pleasures of the eye and the hand. An edition for connoisseurs!

Each production is the result of a particular relationship between the performers, the producer and the recorded music. There are renowned performing artists who release their recordings on Ramée, whilst the label continues to see itself as a platform for young or lesser-known musicians and ensembles who can contribute to the rediscovery of previously unearthed musical treasures.

In order to make its releases accessible to the widest possible audience, Ramée joined Outhere Music in 2010.
