As time goes on, things change. In this life we are often given the opportunity to adapt and adjust to the world around us. At NativeDSD we have been given such an opportunity and we are seizing it! We are growing and evolving – adapting with the times – and this change is one we are very excited about.
Allowing more recorded PCM formats to the store.
The majority of recording industry labels have standardized on lower sample rate PCM recordings. For this reason as well as availability and numerous listener and music label requests, we are now offering their recorded Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound 192 Khz, 176.4 kHz, 96 kHz and 88.2 kHz PCM rates in addition to the DSD, DXD and Very High Bit Rate 384k PCM recordings that we have always featured.
We are very excited about this change because it allows us to offer you a much wider range of music, both in genre and volume, without changing the core DSD and DXD offerings we have always offered. These albums will also take part in the Higher Rates Program to give listeners the full list of options.
As always, the originally recorded resolution will be clearly displayed on each album page so you can make your best choice. We urge you to explore your DAC’s delicacies and performance on each to experience the best sound. The choice is always up to you!
NativeDSD’s Expanding Recorded Resolutions, and Higher Rates Program
For nearly 10 years NativeDSD has been at the forefront of transparency regarding recorded resolution. The majority of the DSD recordings sold by NativeDSD were recorded in DSD, edited, and post-processed in DXD (352.8 kHz), and then converted (modulated) into the four deliverable HRP DSD bitrates. Several hundred were also recorded and released in Pure DSD.
The goal at NativeDSD has always been to provide listeners a wide choice of DSD bitrates in both Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound, thus allowing for the highest DSD bitrate that their DAC will support for optimum sound quality results. For listeners who have newer DACs, DAPs, or disc players that support higher DSD bitrates such as DSD 128, DSD 256, DSD 512, DSD 1024, and DXD playback, these formats are offered as part of our Higher Rates Program. You can read more about the Higher Rate Program in an earlier blog post here.
