The Edit Master of an album is the final version of the recording before it is converted into various formats for release (such as Stereo CD with PCM 16 bit 44.1 kHz audio, Super Audio CD with Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound DSD 64 audio, and FLAC PCM 96k and 192k 24 bit audio download files). The Edit Master includes a recording’s final mix and tweaks.
NativeDSD offers its listeners Very High Resolution Audio editions of their favorite artists, recordings and music genres. To reach that goal, NativeDSD requests and often receives the actual Edit Master of a recording rather than the album’s release format generated from an Edit Master.
With an Edit Master Source, NativeDSD is able to provide our listeners with Very High Resolution Audio editions of your favorite albums. Including albums in Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound Pure DSD 256 audio.
To provide more information to our listeners, NativeDSD has recently begun to note when an album at NativeDSD has been created from the recording’s Edit Master.
You will find this information on the album’s page at NativeDSD.Com with the notation “Edit Master Source”. A complete listing of albums created from the Edit Master Source is available at https://www.nativedsd.com/product-tag/edit-master-source/
