During his 50 years as an Audiophile Producer and Recording Engineer, Jean De Le Durantaye has amassed a vast catalogue of classical recordings. Just before his passing, Jean and his close friend 2xHD’s René Laflamme decided to prepare a collection of some of Jean’s favorite recordings.
This collection which includes works of Bach, Couperin, Chopin, Liszt, Bartok, and Bizet, among others demonstrates the versatility of Jean’s work during his long career. Artists featured on the album include Gaston Arel, Kenneth Gilbert, Lise Boucher, Musicus Orchestra and Raymond Daveluy.
All the recordings in this collection were recorded in 2-track Analog 15 ips Tape, using a two microphone technique. The tracks were transferred from Analog Tape to DSD and DXD and are available in Stereo DSD 512, DSD 256, DSD 128, DSD 64 and DXD.

Here is another 2XHD album that deserves a listen. The atmosphere is smooth and almost meditative given the story behind these post mortem track selections. Bravo to the 2XHD Team.
My favorite tracks are the 3 organ pieces. I compare 2XHD albums with wine from Napa Valley, you can buy blindly and are rarely disappointed.
