Hi-Fi News & Review

Playing a set such as bassist Brian Torff’s live Manhattan Hoedown, now remastered on 2xHD-Jazzology in DSD 128 Stereo, the speed and definition apparent on his subtle, precise playing of the upright bass is thrilling, as is the interplay with pianist Jim Roberts.

Music Critic

There is no one who play bass like Brian Torff. Combining crystalline clarity, superb intonation, tempo, and an overriding sense of joy, he sparkles almost effortlessly.
