2xHD presents a collection of mono recordings from the Jazzology Records label from the legendary actor, singer, songwriter and Jazz pianist Bobby Troup. On Route 66 Troup is joined by Bob Enevoldsen on Horns and Al Viola on Guitar.

Troup famously wrote “Route 66” and acted in the role of Dr. Joe Early with his wife Julie London in the television program Emergency! in the 1970s. This album, part of 2xHD’s “Historic Series”, is a gift to the audiophile, permitting the listener to fully enjoy the warmth, second harmonics, and versatility of the instrument.

Route 66 was transferred from the album’s monophonic tapes to DSD 256 by Rene Laflamme at 2xHD Mastering using the Pyramix Workstation Software and the Horus Analog to Digital Converter from Merging Technologies.  This is a Mono DSD 64 and DSD 128 release (not Stereo, even though our dropdown channel selector indicates ‘stereo’) and is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD album.

Bobby Troup – Piano & Vocals
Bobby Envoldsen – String Bass
