The L.A. Network Plays Gershwin is the third album in the L.A. Network recording series from 2xHD and Resonance Records. It follows their earlier albums Dave Brubeck Redux and Ella On Our Mind – both also available from NativeDSD.Com (linked below).
The new album is a celebration of the music of George Gershwin performed by Josh Nelson (piano and arranger), John Storie (guitar), Alex Frank (bass) and Ryan Shaw (drums). One of the most significant American composers of the 20th century. It is a new 2 Track Analog Recording produced by George Klabin from Resonance Records and transferred from Analog to DXD and DSD by Rene Laflamme at 2xHD.
Although George Gershwin would seldom make grand statements about his music, he believed that “True music must reflect the thought and aspirations of the people and time. My people are Americans. My time is today.”
His music is as fresh and vital today as when he originally created it.
