I love Leroy Vinnegar’s “walking” bass!

I was in two minds about buying this album. The music is not as smooth or as swinging as I usually prefer. However, I am glad I bought the album.
The sound quality is better than I had expected. The instruments are well placed, with the double bass on the left, the drums (mainly) on the right and piano in the middle connecting the two. I did find the “vocal accompaniment” (by Les McCann, I presume) to be a little distracting at times but this is a live performance.
I thoroughly enjoyed the music. It made me wish that I had been at the Village Vanguard that night.
