Canto Stefano features guitarist and singer Fausto Mesolella performing 12 songs composed by Italian writer and poet Stefano Benni. The album was born from a lucky meeting with Stefano, which took place in the theater when we did the show “Ci Manca Totò” together. On that occasion we had the opportunity to deepen our friendship, and a short time later he gave me these splendid poems which I set to music and little by little the idea of making this album came to life.
Giulio Cesare Ricci used tube electronics and dCS AD / DA converters to transfer the Analog recording to Stereo DSD 64. The album has no editing. All tracks on this record are heard as they were performed.
