1 review for Giuseppe Verdi: Il Trovatore (Historic Monoaural Recording)

Even though this Trovatore was recorded in 1970 and it is in mono, and kind of scruffy mono at that.
The vocals are, however, smoothly and palpably rendered with virtually no overloading. Notwithstanding the technical limitations of the recording, it’s a fine testament to the singers involved.
Pedro Lavirgen is a powerhouse of a tenor. Since recordings of him are hard to come by, this series is a welcome addition to his discography.
