Arif Erdem Ocak also known as AEO performed at many concerts in several countries with his Turkish band, Sexendört. They released 4 albums, 1 maxi-single and 17 video clips since 2005. The whole album is written and composed by himself. Arif avoids traditional, very popular “Turkish arabesque” music styles, wisely uses elements of Western music without copying them.

The songs feature blues, funk, jazz, hard rock, modern rock, Turkish pop. Arif Erdem Ocak connects centuries-old Turkish melodies with modern percussion-style guitar playing. With his storytelling and melodic guitar tunes that lean into folk, he intimately unfolds personal narratives and universal topics such as (after) life, spirituality, virtue and our common humanity.

His songs, melodies, and lyrics cover a gamut of emotions; sometimes a mellow contemplation, sometimes overwhelmingly raw or sometimes melodramatic. Arif creates heartfelt hypnotic songs that get under your skin and takes the audience a journey of reflection, silence and mind fullness.
