On the earlier album My Favorite Stings (Pure DSD), Gabriel Farkas from the Gabriel Farkas Band was a guest vocalist on five of the tracks that paid tribute to the music of Sting. With Celebrating Imperfections, Farkas is in the spotlight on the piano and vocals with his interpretations of some very familiar music.
Featuring songs made famous by Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of My Life and The Show Must Go On), Chris Isaak (Wicked Game), Sting (Fields of Gold), Christina Aguilera (Hurt), Michael Jackson (Billie Jean) plus classics like My Funny Valentine and The Greatest Love of All.
The songs were played on the Boganyi B-292 Grand Piano. It is Boganyi’s flagship model and a full-size grand concert piano. Introducing a new dimension of smooth, powerful sound, entwined with its astonishing appearance.
The album was recorded in Pure DSD 256 Stereo and is exclusively available in that format and bit rate at NativeDSD.Com
Gabriel Farkas says “25 years ago I sang the song Too Much Love Will Kill You at home, alone in my room. My mother, who was supportive in everything, opened the door to my room and said: “You can play a thousand more times, it won’t get any better. Because you can already play the piano and sing. But you don’t know what the song is about. To reach that, you have to start practicing something else. You have to practice LIFE. To do that, you have to fall in love, to experience happiness and disappointments. You have to stand up a thousand times if your heart breaks. Then you will be ready to sing.”
