A Pure DSD 256 Stereo DSD EP!
In my decades of teaching, I have had the privilege of teaching a remarkable number of exceptional talents. Students with a wide range of abilities have taught me how to communicate my message in a variety of ways to achieve results. It is a rare gift in the life of a teacher to be able to touch the spiritual development of another person entrusted to her care, to gain their trust and to help them through difficult moments in their lives. She can give something that others may lack. Not to mention the survival, decades later, of a human relationship which is assumed to have been and remains of significance not only for the teacher, but also for each other.
I taught János Kovács between 1964 and 68 when I was a young teacher and László Borbély from 1998-2002. Music was and is the most important part of both of their lives. János studied composition and piano as first studies at the beginning of his course. Today, as is well known, he is an internationally renowned conductor.
Despite his young age, László has appeared on major stages around the world as a pianist. Even in their adolescence, which I was privileged to witness, they took it as a challenge to learn the most difficult masterpieces, and it became a natural requirement for them to perform them on the podium. It is a special opportunity to be part of their professional collaboration, in which they understand each other almost without words, thinking together.
I can only assume that I have done something right during their years of study, because a spirit of mutual interest, mutual trust, taste and demand permeates their collaboration. The recording of Bartók’s three piano concertos – of which I was present at the recording of the first concerto – gives them the opportunity to unravel the deep mysteries of the world of Bartók together. The Savaria Symphony Orchestra was an excellent, professional partner in their work.
