Journey Through The Multiverse! Yours to Discover! The new album by the Gábor Horváth Trio, entitled “Multiverse,” has been released! While their previous album “Soundtrack” was inspired by movie soundtracks, and the following “Tricks” drew inspiration from the enchanting world of magic and card tricks, the current album takes its starting point from the universe around us, astronomy, and theoretical physics.
“After the appearance of the James Webb telescope, I became intensely interested in astronomy, and, as is often the case, I threw myself fully into the subject. I started reading a lot of books and listening to podcast interviews with great minds like Roger Penrose, Stephen Hawking, and Sean Carroll. I was fascinated by what I learned about the universe, black holes, dark matter, and quantum theory.
I realized that it is a science fiction wich we live in, and that the universe is governed by different physical laws where almost anything is possible, and in the vastness of this universe, we are just a tiny dot. I remember that I really like how Michio Kaku, a professor of theoretical physics at New York University, compared string theory to music: ‘The components of atoms are like musical notes vibrating on a string, physics are harmonies, chemistry is melodies, and the universe is the symphony of vibrating strings.’ I was immediately inspired and sat down at the piano and composed the title track of the album. At the same time, during the process, I felt that I didn’t want to create another conceptual record like the previous two, so I focused only on being personal, genuine, and authentic in the songs, and capturing the energy and intimacy we experience at our live concerts with the audience. So, we put together a more relaxed, vibrant, colorful, and fun material, where our distinctive style features are equally dominant. The title ‘Multiverse’ not only reflects the initial inspiration but also symbolizes this diversity.”
Gábor Horváth The compositions on the album are characterized by playfulness, musical humor, and emotional variety. Alongside energy-packed tracks with fast-paced rhythm changes, there are also expansive solos and anthemic ballads. Gábor’s compositions are known for their ‘painting with sound,’ their clear and powerful expression of moods and emotions, and the Trio’s perfect instrumental performance.
