Aksiom is one of Norway’s leading young ensembles for contemporary music and works. They focus primarily on new Nordic music and improvisation. This is their debut album. It features works by young Swedish and Norwegian composers Johan Svensson, Lisa Streich, Øyvind Mæland and Martin Rane Bauck.
They are performed by the nine musicians of the ensemble together with experimental vocalist Stine Janvin Motland (Mæland) and conductor Kai Grinde Myrann. The music is quiet and delicate, but offers a rich sound with a strong focus on nuance and detail.

Morgenbladet
“Axiom reminds us of the sound of music. It is important and interesting. Among the youngest composers we are now seeing an interesting turn back to sound quality and how the music actually sounds remains at the center of their interest. Their recording debut contains strong works of Johan Svensson, Lisa Streich, Øyvind Mæland and Martin Rane Bauck. “
