Following their first three albums, Wheatus started recording exclusively using the Sonoma DSD Workstation from the Super Audio Center at DSD 64 (2.8 MHz). They released The Lightning EP in 2009, which was recorded live in the band’s home studio straight to 2-track DSD, with vocals overdubbed. Next, Wheatus upgraded their Sonoma DSD Workstation System to 8-track DSD, which we used to record The Jupiter EP in 2010. Once again, all instrumentals were captured as full live performances.
DSD downloads of both EPs were temporarily available direct from Wheatus.com, but due to server restrictions the albums were only available for a limited time. We’re thrilled to offer them in their native, full resolution format again for the first time since their release here at Native DSD Music.
