After 15 years of playing mostly groundbreaking music, slowly but surely more Romantic composers entered Calefax’s repertoire. This album is the Romantic Anthology that was bound to happen. Filled with voluptuous nineteenth-century compositions.

Romantic Kaleidoscope from the Calefax Reed Quintet on Rioja Records and Turtle Records offers a new vision on Romantic repertoire by five virtuoso reed players and arrangers: Raaf Hekkema on Saxophone, Oliver Boekhoorn on Oboe, Ivar Berix on Clarinet, Jelte Althuison Bass Clarinet and Alban Wesly Bassoon.

Romantic Kaleidoscope is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD album. It’s at the NativeDSD Music store today in Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound DSD.

Calefax says “You may think of a kaleidoscope in the context of color rather than sound.
