Six Theatrical Introductions Op. IV, Concerto in A Major (Sei Introduttioni Teatrali Op. IV, Concerto in la maggiore) is a DSD release from Fone that contains music by Pietro Antonio Locatelli. It is a reference album for baroque music lovers. The album underlines the typical “Italian interpretation” of Maestro Agostino Orizio conductor of Orchestra del Festival “Michelangeli” di Brescia e Bergamo and great interpreter of this repertoire.

The album’s recording was produced and recorded by Giulio Cesare Ricci in the fascinating acoustics of the Ridotto del Palazzo Grande in Brescia. His setup used Neumann U47 and M49 tube microphones plus his analog recording equipment: advanced mike pre-amplifiers, Nagra Analog Tape Recorders, and Signoricci line, microphone, and supply cables. The Original Analog Master Tape was transferred from the Nagra 4s directly to DSD Stereo.

For this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci used a “field effect” recording technique.  Providing natural sound without the use of equalizers, no sound expansion and compression systems. This will allow the listener in their home audio system to experience the live effect as if they had been present at the concert.
