Audiophile Trip features 18 tracks recorded in Stereo DSD by Fone Records founder and president Giulio Cesare Ricci. The tracks on this fine audiophile music sampler were personally selected for the collection by Mr. Ricci. It is a collection of some of the most significant tracks of the Fonè catalog. Chosen from Ancient, Medieval, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Opera and Jazz music.
The album features a number of Fone’s artists including Salvatore Accardo, Al Quantarah, Camerata Strumentale di S.Cecilia, Bruno Canino, Gaby Cole, Stefano Concordia, Roberta Cristoni, Ensemble Weltgesang, Fone Ensemble, Fone Jazz Makers, Marco Fornaciari, Raina Kabaivanska, Leone Magiera, Laura Manzini, Monastic Choir of the Solemnity of Saint Benedict, Orchestra da Camera di Brescia e Bergamo, Agostino Orizio, and Marco Pezzenati.
This album is very famous internationally. Its Super Audio CD (SACD) version was used as a “SACD Test” by Philips in recognition of the album’s sound quality of recording and artistic quality.
All selections on the album are brought to you in perfect “Fonè style” by Giulio Cesare Ricci. The tracks use his legendary Neumann U47, U48, M49 tube microphones in locations with original and natural acoustics such as castle, churches, theaters, historic villas. It was recorded in Stereo DSD on the Pyramix Workstation from Merging Technologies using dCS A/D and D/A converters. A state of the art system with no sound manipulation, no equalization, no reverb, no compression and expansion, but natural sound.
