Melting Textures by Jacobus Thiele is the latest album in the TRPTK Sessions series. It features 6 original compositions by Thiele, a drummer, and percussionist who studied at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Jacobus Thiele notes that “Music can be quite abstract. There is nothing that can be touched, nothing to be seen in music. Nevertheless music touches us, evokes emotions, feelings and creates landscapes and pictures in our heads.
These six pieces came into being through improvising on the spot. They are deeply connected to my experiences of hearing, listening, playing and being touched by different styles of music, sounds, musicians and artists. All these textures have inspired me and helped me to discover my own way of playing: melting them together into new textures.”
