Lidell 2

Lidell 2 is a solo work by Japanese percussionist Chihaya Matsumoto. It is the second album of her Liddell series, which is based on improvisation. It was recorded in February 2018.

Alice in Wonderland is based on the story of an English mathematician, Lewis Carroll, who improvised and told an acquaintance girl Alice Riddell. Chihaya Matsumoto’s Liddell series is also a story of an improvised world of sounds. The gorgeous and delicate tone of percussion played by her reminds the brains of the audience of various lives, landscapes and feelings that have been forgotten.

The name of a mysterious cake that grows bigger when eaten is added to the album title, and as you read by connecting the titles of each song, there is a world view that is similar to the first work “Pishsalver”. The bigger audience, please compare it with the first one. When one sees the same world with different sizes, how does the world look in its eyes?
